Artists & Artisans Exhibition

Bletchfest’s Annual Artists and Artisans Exhibition, displaying the artistic and creative talents of local artists and crafts people, will take place over the weekend of 18th and 19th May. Showcasing unique original art in a variety of different media, including painting, woodturning, ceramics, jewellery and metal craft, the event prides itself in giving a platform to mixed abilities from the professional to the leisure artist showing the diversity of artistic talent in our community.

The exhibition displays over inside and outside areas with hanging and some table space inside the Pavilion at Grange Meadow along with outside displays of woodturning and other crafts. Entry to the exhibition is free with refreshments on offer from the Pavilion bar and café.

If you’re a producer of artisan crafts or an artist, working in any media, and would like to showcase your creative talents there’s still time to book hanging space and/or a table or even bring your own marquee/gazebo to display in the outside area. Our invitation with full details is set out in the box below.

We are delighted to announce the opening of submissions for the 2024 Art Exhibition at Grange Meadow. This will be held over the weekend of 17th, 18th and 19th May. Drop-off will be on Thursday, 16th between 3.00 and 5.00 pm. Set up will be during Friday by the committee, with a private viewing from 7.00 pm, which will be an invitation only event to which all contributing artists and crafters will be included.

Following on from the success of last year’s Art Exhibition, we welcome local crafters so that it will be a combined Art and Craft Exhibition. The majority of artworks will be displayed in the Pavilion itself. We welcome exhibitors to bring their own marquees to display work, particularly if you have large pieces or a big volume of work to display. These marquees will be situated outside on the green. Marquees need to be taken down overnight and the art or craft work stored in one of the buildings at Grange Meadow for safety reasons. The Pavilion will be locked overnight – there is CCTV both inside and outside.

Day 1 (Saturday) of the exhibition will start at 12.00 pm and close at 6.00 pm on Saturday 18th May.

Day 2 (Sunday) will start at 12.00 pm and finish at 4.00 pm on Sunday 19th May. We would then ask you to make arrangements to remove your work by 5.00 pm on the same day.

All submission requests will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, so I urge that you don’t delay in your application. The cost for an approximate space of 180 cm by 90 cm (6 ft x 3 ft) hanging space OR a 18 cm by 75 cm (6 ft x 2ft 6 in) table is £25.00 in the bar area and £20 if using your own marquee and display material. This is non-refundable but we have decided NOT to charge any commission on sales, nor charge an entrance fee to the public. The BletchFest committee will confirm space by Monday 22nd April.

The public will have full access to the pavilion whilst the exhibition takes place. The premises will therefore not be secure and we recommend that you make arrangements for you or your representative to be present during the opening times above.

We would be happy to provide facilities for processing card payments subject to a modest fee.

Please note that we cannot accept any responsibility for the loss of or damage suffered by your work during the course of the exhibition.

If you would like to apply for exhibition space please complete the form below and we will email an application form to you. Applications will close after the 18th April 2024.
